Damon Bowman is a seasoned business attorney, strategist, entrepreneur, and executive with more than 24 years of experience advising businesses, executives, and investors in complex business transactions, mergers and acquisitions, real estate matters, and corporate strategy. His unique background as both an attorney and successful business owner allows him to provide clients with practical, business-minded legal guidance grounded in real-world experience.
Damon represents clients in a wide range of transactional and business matters, with a particular focus on mergers and acquisitions, real estate transactions, capital raising, entity formation and structuring, construction matters, and general business consulting. He regularly works with companies in growth mode, helping business owners navigate expansion, operational challenges, strategic planning, and long-term business objectives.
What distinguishes Damon from many transactional attorneys is that he has personally experienced the challenges his clients face every day. Before focusing fully on his legal practice, Damon founded, operated, and ultimately sold a multimillion-dollar business over a seven-year period. During that time, he managed a company with 31 employees and firsthand experience handling the pressures of rapid growth, cash flow management, client acquisition, litigation, audits, operational scaling, and strategic decision-making.
Because of this experience, Damon understands that business owners operate in the real world—not in a legal vacuum. He approaches legal representation with a practical perspective that balances legal protection with operational realities, growth goals, and business strategy.
Throughout his career, Damon has served as a founder, C-level executive, general counsel, management consultant, and attorney across a variety of industries, including construction, energy, FinTech, real estate, and banking. His broad experience allows him to guide clients through both legal and business challenges with strategic insight and practical solutions.
Originally from Richardson, Texas, Damon graduated from Lake Highlands High School before earning his Bachelor of Science in Corporate Communication from The University of Texas at Austin in 1996. He began his Juris Doctor journey in 2002 at South Texas College of Law before transferring to SMU’s Dedman School and was admitted to the State Bar of Texas in 2005.
Outside of his legal practice, Damon is deeply committed to coaching and mentorship. He coached youth soccer beginning when his son was three years old and later coached at the high school level, where his team won a state championship. He is also an avid golfer and wake surfer.
